ignition timing marks for 190 carb 2.0l

i have had trouble find the timing mark on the engine block of my 1989 G reg
petrol carb 2.0l 190 , it seems from the description in the Haynes manual to be behind the pullies , is this correct or am i just dense.

Can anybody help?

Timing pointer is fitted to the timing chain cover, markings on flange of crankshaft pulley.
