Recently I have had the following intermittent problem.

Put the ignition key in and when you try to start it sounds as if the battery is dead, i.e. nothing happens.

If I take the keys out of the ignition then lock then unlock and try again it will fire up no problem???????????

As it starts eventually there is obviously enough power in the battery.

If the batteries in the key fobs need replaced would this cause a starting problem.

It happens with both key fobs.

Any suggestions gretaly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Does it pull the key in & allow the ignition lights to come on, just no cranking?

the key batterys are only for locking/unlocking, hence you have a blade key, if the fob batterys go flat then you open car with blade key, alarm sounds, put key in to kill alarm and start car, i suspect your fault is going to be in the EIS unit itself!! sorry to say dealer job only as green key needed to code new EIS in!
