Ignition will not turn.

Hello, I have a 2009 Mercedes sprinter 311c and the ignition will not turn. The vans battery is good & the key has new batteries. However the ignition will not turn.

Do you mean key will not turn or engine will not turn over?

Does your second key work (if you have one)?

Sounds like the EIS has gone bad, the key has become unsynced or the key is bad.

Exactly what the recovery guy said yesterday after he spent 2hrs try his best to fix it via all the information which he could find on his laptop. Now trying to find a auto locksmith near Chichester West Sussex.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Is SBC Johnny still on here, Dartford area??
We had an issue once when our key wouldn't it the ignition. Turned to be the eis had a crack in it.
SBC Johnny found a replacement unit.
