love the colour (but then I'm biased :)).

you need to share the full spec of the car.

Personally I love the estates, they are comfortable, practical and a good excuse (if you need one) for driving round in a Merc.

Enjoy

Thanks guy's.........Yea I was very wary of another green car (the Vec I traded in was also green!) it's the sport model with tiptronic (which I have tried yet) black cloth interior with the proper (or so the salesman said) carbon dash and door trims.

I got it realatively cheap because they couldn't gaurantee the milege, but it drives lovely, I had a 230E before but it wasn't a patch on this, obviously I'm still finding out about it, as I didnt get an owner's manual, well I did but it's for the C class diesels then again I suppose it covers more/less everything apart from the tech specs.

I did phone a couple of dealers the other day to try and check on the history/milege but they couldnt help, would an HPI find thing's like that?, or should I just let thing's lye.

Guaranteed mileage

Virtually no-one guarantees mileage nowadays so I wouldn't worry about that. If you want history you'll have to start with the previous owner & then call servicing dealers. HPI will give you virtually nothing apart from whether it's been recorded damaged/written off and whether it's been stolen. The supplying dealer will have HPId it so why not ask them for a print out?

It is possible to recreate the history by buying a duplicate service book from Mercedes and getting the servicing dealer to stamp it up. Having bought the car you may think it's not worth it but when you come to sell it you'll wish you did!

If it's a diesel tiptronic it'll be nice. A black interior is much nicer than the usual boring grey, in my opinion, but to keep it looking good I recommend a set of the (pricey) Mercedes fitted covers

Iv'e to go back to him either tomorrow/Wed so he can take some engine oil out, as the "mechanic" overfilled it!!!. Yea I know what you mean regarding milege, do all dealers do an HPI, I didnt know this, what happens if I asked if he did or not but he says no.

Oh and yes it's the C280 sport auto est (petrol) with the black cloth interior and the carbon dash and door's.

HPi record a tremedous amount of info based on the info they are supplied.

I did an HPi check on a van at a dealers it showed 80,000 miles and seemed genuine ie no signs of wear on the seats , mats, pedal rubbers etc but HPi confirmed that only 1 month before it had 160,000 miles on it!!!

Save me £7k and started a trading standards investigation which ended up putting the dealer inside for 18mths (NOT his first offence)

The next van i bought i also hpi'd and again they had information which the then owner was astonished to find as he had owned the van from new and never given them any info

Of course the idea is to check prior to parting with the cash as you may find out something which you would prefer NOT to know!!
