Illuminated door sills

As an option to my E class, local MB dealer telling me they can fit a blue lit illuminated door sill with either words of Mecedes benz or AMG, not sure myself to weather they would look good or be a little bling! Anyone have them or seen them fitted, and what did you make of them.

Hi ricky, these things are a easy do it yours elf retro fit, they do look good and not tacky, certain cars get agro with water in them, I like them and I will fit them on my SL

I,m understand your concerns regarding these sills being to 'bling' i have them fitted to my c class and they look really nice not to over the top is it just the front or do they do a complete set for your car?
Mine are pattern items bought from ECP for approx. £65 for a 4dr set, genuine Mercedes items should be better quality, though mine are good.
Mine are always remarked upon how good they look and the blue illumination is not to bright and garish, quite a subtle effect I.M.O.

Thanks Malcom and Andy, I will probaly have the front sills fitted on the back of your comments. Malcom you might be intrested to know, from a previous thread some time back, we both discussed the value of linguatronic, I have actually booked my car into Braybrooks, for a fitment of linguatronic and parktronic, albeit expensive, I am hopeful of a first class job and as per factory fit look, from them. I will let you know, Rick

This is easy to do and the cars are pre wired for the official versions,,you can DIY this

The cars are not pre wired Malc, you get a massive amount of a wiring loom with relays etc, !!

I thought on many the wires were in the kick panels,,they are on the 129
