It rather depends on whether you think it's good value for the amount of work involved unfortunately nothing cheap nowadays regardless of manufacturer

it depends what else they did during the service. An A service is pretty much an oil and filter but the car might have had additional items outstanding.
probably better finding a good indie for your car now imho…

I'm a Newbie Mercedes owner, owned the car since July 2023, just taken it for an A service, got charged £750, have I been ripped off?

It does sound a bit steep for an A service on a 12 year old C220cdi, I paid quite a bit less than that for a B service on the SL63 from the main dealer, including spark plugs, brake fluid change, and a loan car for the day.

I always get a full quote for what they are proposing to do, and then negotiate from there. Walking in and asking for a service is a bit like handing them a blank cheque. Usually Mercedes give a discount for older cars, so it is worth negotiating. I got 40% off on labour, so they clearly welcome the business.

Of course we do not know who did your service, or what they did, for all we know it might have been a local non-specialist.

£750 looks a bit excessive. Have you thought of a service plan. I have a 2020 B Class 220d AMG. My current service plans costs £40 per month which includes one service per year. Mercedes Mobilo ( Breakdown cover and recovery plus loan car when under repair) The new projected cost is approx. £41, also to include MOT. Hope this helps.
