the key fob lets me into the car but doesn't always give me a green light on the mirror for some reason,i did a topic search and found the key reprogramming sequence which worked a treat but it keeps recurring, anyone got any ideas how to sort it permanently?
its nice to be back..........

replace the batteries in the key fob immediatly with brand new ones (even if youve done it already)

then resync

if it's still failing, then tell us what the pattern of red/green flashing is on your rear view mirror

also check this out (scroll down to the bottom for the synchronising)

hi,cheers for the replies, first thing i did was replace the batteries,it didn't make any difference, sometimes it goes green and lets the car start no problem, but sometimes i get alternate red green flashing and the fuel pump wont prime, hazards have flashed a few times aswell, doing the resync does the trick but only after a few attempts...im thinking maybe i need a new fob????

The chances are is that there is a dry joint on the PCB, have a look at Anywebs fix in the DIY section

in addition, if the key is working perfectly, then you may actually have a battery issue (car battery)

can you test with a known good battery ?

thanks guys,i did the digital camera trick to see if i could see the actual infra red beam, it works better than i'd hoped,i noticed that i get a grey pulsing beam when pressed and i also get a quick red flash aswell im assuming the red one is the immobiliser signal and the grey is the unlock signal?
i did notice that i didn't get the red glow every time i pressed the button so i now now i have a faulty key, does anybody know how much a replacement one is from the stealers? (i tried to prize it open and nearly took a finger off!!)
by the way can i congratulate 'anyweb' for his web page,i'm sure lots of peoples sanity have been saved by it!! :D
