Hello there,
After my w123 was stolen, I bought a lovely 1995 w124 estate 2 weeks ago. The only problem is that the remote has stopped working (have changed batteries) and mercedes require a V5 logbook in my name before they will order me a new one. I can still enter the car with the key but the immobiliser is engaged. Apart from waiting for 5 weeks for a new logbook and then a key from mercedes, is there any way round the immobiliser?

Please help if you can as I won't have a car all summer!

thanks

Did you remember to synchronise the system after changing the batteries ?????

If not, do so, and you will find it works OK again.

See handbook for instructions.

Thanks David, I tried but I think the fob has had it - my dad had an M-reg C class and his went after 10 years as well. I expect it's built in obsolesence at work.

I tried 2 lots of batteries but there was no red glow at all as handbook states
