I had the battery out of the car to charge it. The car hasn't run for a while and the battery was low on charge for some reason.

When I put the battert back in, I couldn't get past the alarm/immobiliser to actually start the car. All the electrics work up until I turn the key to start the engine.

The immobiliser is one of those ones where you hold a thing near a hole and then you can start the engine. I'm going to take that out as its difficult if I stop the engine in traffic and then have to start the engine quickly. The only wire that the immobiliser splits is a a purple and black wire, does anybody know what this wire is?

Also, the third pin from the left on the alarm looks like it had a wire attached at some point and this has broken off, anybody know the pin out of this alarm unit?

If you don't tell us the model, how are we going to help you?

In the first instance use a code reader.

What on earth is the use of a code reader on a fault like this :confused::confused::confused:

When I push the alarm key fob thing, there is a click from the box. I just need to know which wires are connected with the starter motor circuit and what is supposed to happen.

I'm not sure if the alarm is a proper merc thing or an after market thing. It looks more like the latter.

There is no loose wire hanging out, so that not a problem, as I said earlier use a code reader in the first instance why you can't start the car.

There is something written on the box, read it out.

Your best bet to compare someone with a similar immobiliser or the installation manual.

some people really dont have a clue on here, talk about talking for the sake of it!!!

it really isnt that hard to remove the system, done a couple of them and doing one as we speak for another member on here, follow the wires back and cut and re-solder the proper loom, should only take a couple of hours for the normal diy chap!!

Haven't seen this link for almost a year or two. But the question is which model should we choose, it so varies.

I know mine is MBSS 2a, which model does it reflects?
