Hi Folks

My interior mirror IR sensor seems to have packed up and i've been requested to pay over £230 to replace it in and hence has anyone got a circuit diag or any details on how to bypass the alarm immobiliser.

Both keys have had replacement batteries , the central locking works on the key and the car cranks

Thanks

I wouldn't think the forum would be beating a path to your door to tell you how to by-pass an immobiliser ;)

Indeed.
Especially with 129s being a desirable and appreciating asset.

You can check the connector at the top of the mirror. Given the mirror and IR are separate modules that's about the only place they have in common. Also check all your fuses and clean them with Emery if they are the old euro style bullet ones. Beyond that you'll probably need Star to look at the modules or perhaps a blink code reader.

Right ............... its decided to work again. What i did was disconnect the battery, leave it for 50 + mins and then reconnect the battery and go through the 2 click at the mirror and then insert the key within 30 seconds. I then clicked the key and the central locking started working again and then clicked until the green light flashed on the mirror and the car started when i inserted and cranked the engine.

I think the main issue is the quality of the batterys in the keys and the fact the alarm does seem to get confused and need a total power off hence 4 off philips fob batteries will be added on the shopping list for next time i risking going to the shops.

Sounds like it's desynchronised the keys. The resync routine sorted it. Result then
