 I have a mercedes C180 1996 and for some reason my infa red remote key will not lock or unlock the car, or start. I know there is a method to get this back and running but what is it ? I have tried locking the passenger door, pointing it at receiver and putting the key to second position on the ignition but it still does not work. Any Ideas ! I am at my wits end.

not sure if this will work, put key in and turn to pos I and hold the lock button in till the doors lock or an audible sound is heard if nothing happens the put it to pos II and do the same, have you changed the remote batterys they might just be flat also clean the inside of the remote out including the button
