I have a 99 230 SLK and the immobiliser seems to have a mind of its own. The car has now twice stopped while driving and the only thing to do is to disconnect the battery, wait 5 minutes, and then I am OK. Sometimes I dont have to disconnect the battery but just keep turning the key on/off, on/off about 50 times and the car will finally start. ALSO maybe related is that one of the tail lights will go out and I get the warning light on the dash coming on to tell me that the tail light is out. Could these two things be related (because my tail light keeps going out andI know it isnt simply the bulbs are bad). Any ideas? If you own a shop, I am happy to pay for this damn problem to go away.
