Not my car, ours is lost in Zeebruger so they have given me a B Class as a courtesy car,

Not a very inspiring little car from the outside, but once in it it is surprisingly roomy, very comfortable and refined.

Now considering this car has only 200 mile on the clock I was very very impressed with the fuel economy, hope my GLA is as good when it arrives

first 26 mile was wind assisted

but the overall average for the round trip was still excellent

When fully run in I could imagine this returning may be an 80+

That’s incredible. The B class is a neat MPV I think.

The B class is definitely an under rated car.
Not seen 70 mpg but get 60 odd on a long trip.

A friend of ours only kept her new B-class for a couple of months - missed the luxury touches of the E-class. Oh, and it could only be had with a black interior. She swapped it for a 1-year-old W213 in Cavansite Blue with a porcelain interior.

Nice colour combo (and I don’t mean the B-Class...)

My mum had this and loved it! Went for miles and very spacious as well as comfortable... her new GLA does not give her as much bang for her buck...

This puzzles me greatly, as our E350cdi has never shown more than 46mpg - and that was a highly unrepresentative trip, all on the motorway cruising at 65mph. Only once. Otherwise, it is very rare to average anything over 40 for a whole journey.

I have never known one that doesn't, our yeti was always about 7% out from reality.

I won't get to know the truth behind the merc until mine arrives and I have done a few fill to fill calculations. The only metric I have been able to verify on the B Class was the true mileage. on a known distance of 82.9 miles it showed 83.2 so only 0.4 of a percent out.

But never the less this diesel B Class is showing promise, for the 360 mile I have done in it so far it is claiming an average of 63.8 mpg. Pretty impressive for a car with only 375 mile on the clock. When run in it should easily achieve 70+

The Roll or Glide feature in the Ecconomy drive settings is a big fuel saver.

I think you will be very happy with the fuel costs on the B class... it always felt as if you drove for miles without the needle even flinching... cannot remember the calculations as it was over three years ago :(

I’ve always found the Mercedes MPG show to be within 1% of the actual on fill to fill Even over a year my old 270 would say it had averaged 45 ish and the company calculator had me at 44.3, my 212 and my brothers 205 (before he changed for a V90) again pretty accurate, okay a little optimistic but nothing too far out

I wasn't doubting what you see, more bemoaning the high consumption of our car. Mind you, the 20mpg we saw today for 145 miles did have a caravan on the back...
