Ordered 4 replacement wheel trims from the dealer and they came to a staggering £148! For some plastic! Then later the next day I ordered some rear seat clips, front and rear badges and a boot lock seal and that little lot came to a very reasonable £24.40 - inconsistent or what! (I was expecting a shocking price when I rang for the second lot of parts.)

inconsistant pricing

its probably because wheel trims are a common purchase, its the same as anything in todays society, they know we need it so they up the price!

I was faced with that senario back a few years ago on a 230e. Bought a set of alloys, for not much more. Although they were the trims with alloy in them, not the all plastic ones.

Disgusting price for some plastic trims that any thief could steal with just his bare hands. If you're parked and somebody fancies your wheel trims then basically they can, without so much as a screwdriver! :-x
I think that considering the security issue (or lack of it) these trims should be cheaper.

I understand that but it's still disgusting. Mercedes should be promoting a decent customer service, not ripping us off. It's bad enough when some toe rag half-inches my trims but when MB then compound this by ripping me off it makes me livid. A double kick in the teeth so to speak.

I've driven through some areas where they steal you trims while you are still moving.

Yes, I considered buying some "as new" ones on Ebay and would have done for £50 but I'm not gambling almost £90 (plus postage) when someone's idea of "as new" might differ from mine. May as well fork-out £140 for some guaranteed brand-new ones from the dealer. At least I know they'll be mint and that they'll turn up on time. You're right too, mine probably WILL end up on Fleabay. :-x

Parts prices are always random. I remember getting some headrests for a Ford many years ago. They got me some light blue ones, when I pointed out that they needed to be dark blue, the parts guy said fine, but the dark blue ones are more expensive!
