I thought I’d post this as it relates to car crime.
My next door neighbours have been away for two weeks and returned to find their home had been broken into and items taken. The police duly came out and ‘investigated‘ and issued a crime number etc. They did the usual knocking on all the surrounding doors and asked whether noises were heard or did anyone have CCTV. We all know the stats regarding crime convictions so the only upshot will be that the insurance will put things right for the couple and of course we all end up paying indirectly.
The reason for posting is that the low life’s came back the following night and stole their car which obviously wasn’t there the night of the burglary. The thieves had taken their second car key which had been kept in a jewellery box. What I’m perplexed about is why the police didn’t ask whether all their car keys were accounted for or is this just typical of the box ticking society we’ve become.
It’s bad enough enduring the aftermath of a break-in but to suffer a second time in days is appalling
