Along with speed bumps, I have another suggestion for our wonderful capital city to cut its pollution levels. If they were to increase the number of parking bays then pollution would go down. Here's why. My line of work means that I spend most of my time in London and a lot of that time is spent waiting for clients. The other day I was up in Mayfair and had stopped in a side road to have a sarnie while waiting for my client. I was on a single yellow but sat in the car so could move if I had to. One of Westminsters finest soon appeared and moved me on. I drove around for 10 minutes trying to find a legal place to stop but there were a few resident permit bays and miles of yellow lines, but nowhere where I could stop. So there we have it - me and hundreds of other chauffeurs in London have to drive around needlessly because we can't stop and wait for our clients, whilst heating up the planet nicely from our tailpipes.
