indicator blowing fuses

Hi,my car is E230, W210 and the problem is a blown fuse for the indicators. I put in a new fuse and the indicators work ok for a while, then the fuse blows again. The strange thing is that they work ok when I put the hazard warning flashers on, even though the fuse is blown. Any ideas would be welcome. Cheers
