Indicators

Sorry to seem ignorant, but what does that mean that I have to do... Do I take it apart to see if a wire is disconnected or is it a new part? the flasher has not worked since we got the car, but the indicators were fine until trhis morning.

You need a new stalk circa £80 Steering wheel off but easy to fit

have fitted rotor switches for the same fault on 170,s fuse holder burns out in main light switch, would think thats the fault, never fitted a stalk to a 170 before but always a first!!!

your main light switch, put ign on and put indicator on pull off the side of dash and wiggle top bank of fuses, if memory correct the last one nearest the front, if they come on then new switch needed, if thats the case contact me, have brand new switch at home!!!

Indictaors

many thanks... like a dumbo I had checked the wrong fuse and thinking that as the hazards worked it was ok, but the fuse had blown and it is fine now.... many thanks again... headlamp flasher still not working and cannot see which is correct fuse, had all out in dashboard, but can only get to half in the bonnet... I guess I need a special tool to get at the lower ones in the bonnet.

170 SLK indicator run through the PSE pump in the boot. This could have water in it. Check for signs of a water leak.

sounds about right, they stopped working not long after it had been through the car wash...
