Rushden - H A Lock and Son are one of the best but don't expect any 'gloss' however he does know Mercs and if you have a diesel you will not find better - even Merc's use him to advise on problems with the older motors.

I have heard of this place in Rushden. Where exactly are they?
Guys at Parkham are ex MB and have the proper diagnostic equipment.

Just past Croyland Car Sales adjacent the roundabout on the way into Rushden along the Wellingborough Road.

As I say do not expect to see a shiny shop more like a scrap yard, but their expertise is the best.
