For the last 5 years I have travelled over to Preston in Lancashire to have my servicing done by Mercedes specialists Thornleys at Walton -Le Dale 01772 - 886759. My car has responded well to their servicing over the last 50,000 miles and a major maintenance service seems to cost around £300 with a minor standard service running at around £130.

I've been over and met the guys and they were very pleasant and helpful.

I have not used them for a paid for service yet (they did some free-diagnosis) but I will be using them for a radiator swap, ATF flush and Service D (and then hopefully all servicing and repairs after that if all goes well)

Location is 5mins from the M55 Kirkham junction

In my opinion, MB Tech are the type of indies you should be looking at.

Just opened on 1st September 2009 by 2 former Mercedes Benz technicians who offer a high standard of service without the fancy Merc prices!
Their not far from you about 11.1 miles I have used them and recommended them to others on this forum with no bad feed back
