I had a bad injector seat on my e220, I have re cut the seat but there is a slight chip in the seat on the edge in the center, the rest of the seat has came up fine and the copper washer is flat against the rest of the good surface, Will this cause any problems?

When i saw the title, thought it was an actual injector seat, as in Bonds, Aston. ;) Bit disappointed when it wasn't. :(
Hope you solve your problem, though. :)

I've had the car for 6 years and been a great car, it still does a couple of trips to Germany a year so need it to be reliable, the injector seat was done by a garage around a year ago but started leaking again, thought I would do it myself then at least I know it's done properly, due to it been reamed before it's had a bit took off already so if it happens again I may have to take even more off hence the need for thicker injector washer if available

Sure I read somewhere on here about using Honda washers if wanting a thicker one.

They also cause the injector nozzles to sit further out the combustion chamber causing starting issues....something I have come across after people have followed the Honda washer advice.

If you cut the seat of the head and the base of the injector it should seal just fine with the Merc washer.

It's the lack of cut and cleaning that is at the root cause of most repeatitive failures.

I suppose I could use the honda washers if I need to do it again in the future, fingers crossed the chip won't affect it, drove 30 mile today and seems ok

That.

My sister had a leaking injector on her galaxy a few years back. A garage repaired it. Leak returned. it was clear they just replaced the washer. I got a kit for reaming and cleaning the seat. Took me best part of a day. Been fine since. Makes sense that a bad seat will be a return of the problem. A slight gap will soon burn through a new washer in no time.

The problem I have, the slight chip Is on the edge where the injector pokes through and i would need to take a good chunk off to get rid, other than that the seal goes flat across the rest of the seat, I was hoping that if the rest was flat where the majority of the seal is then this would be OK due to there been a edge to stop the gases with the groove not being right across.

A thicker washer wont cure your issue.

Without seeing it its hard to advise you but without a completely flat surface it wont seal for long regardless of how thick your washer is.

Will take the injector back out tonight, will get a pic, suspect will need the ream it out even further, hence the need for possibility of the honda washers otherwise the clamp may touch the head, anybody used them before?

Took the injector back out, cut the seat a bit more and looks smooth, the only thing that was wrong was the clamp was just about touching the case when clamped, it looks as if the mechanic who fixed it last time also reamed it, I compared the gaps between the other injectors and the case and popped the honda washer in instead, this now looks to have the same gap as the others
