Hi all, new to MB ownership with recent aquisition of a 260E. Car is fine in all major respects but several small items either repaired or on the list, one of which is the permanent 3 o'clock display! I have read somewhere that this can be fixed by replacing a couple of components on the circuit board, can anyone point me in the right direction? Many thanks.

It might be the fuse for the circuit the clock is on. Fuse on my 190E was faulty and clock and some lights didn't work as a result. Do a search for "clock" as I saw a post about the clock and how to repair it if the clock itself is faulty.

Stevie, many thanks, I saw what I am remembering when I first discovered the site and have since searched the forums as you suggest but due to the considerable amount of posts I have been unable to retrace the exact one containing the advice. I think it was posted some time ago as a response to someone wanting inforation about what to look for when buying a 124. It mentioned the small component replacement as an alternatve to changing the complete tachometer head. I will keep trying to find it again. Cheers.
