I Have A 02 Merc Vito 65 K. Constant Problem With Battery Been Drained Have Tried A Meter On The Fuses But No Results The Drain Is On Secondary Leads From + Side Of Battery At My Wits End At This Stage , Would It Cause A Problem If I Use A Kill Switch On These Leads.
As I Used 2 Auto Electricians And That Was Aa Waste Of Both Time And Money.
Wonder If Using Kill Switch Will Only Give Me Worse Problem Down The Road.

it would work but the switch would have to be in line with the battery and you would have to reset everything everytime, sounds like you need somebody whos knows what there doing!!!!

As Cole above,,not a good idea,, its a matter of putting an ammeter in line, and disconnect things one at a time to find the source of the leak. Has the van been plugged into STAR

STAR is the dedicated diagnosis gear for finding faults,, there is a good chance that what ever is wrong on you van could show up on STAR,, there are many good indies out there with this test gear.

Are you sure that the battery is not at fault with a high resistance cell,, this will will give the symptoms of starting and driving all day, but overnight its dead when you try and start in the next morning

you should ask your local dealer for some free advice. My local dealer is a gent. A bottle of wine usually helps.

Been there. In our case it boiled down to the fact that current drains aren't always immediate - at least they aren't on the E class and I suspect the Vito has daft electronics too. Get them to put an ammeter on it and leave it all day, checking ever now and then. We had an indie do ours and it did take him most opf the day. Our E was a switch panel but the drain didn't start until the car had been shut off and left undisturbed for at least 20 mins.
