Insurance drop - Now there's a first!

Hi all

Just got my insurance renewal through and it's actually dropped in price I can't even beat it on comparison sites.

OK, it's only by approx £40 but that is a nifty 12% less than last year despite adding occasional business use and having my windscreen repaired earlier in the year.

How did this happen?? Are they feeling the pinch? Have I just reached the insurance sweet spot between young and reckless Versus old and doddery? Have I missed a 0 off the quote?

Whatever the reason: Happy days.

Renewing with Direct Line the CLS55 is ~£70 cheaper than the C270 and I couldn't better it via the comparison sites

Is this possibly a knock-on effect of removing the gender premium disparity?

They know that you drove the C270 like a maniac and that you cannot afford to drive the 55 fast as it drinks too much petrol

The CLS is so deceptively fast and that exhaust 'song' is addictive :Oops:

Go the whole way and get a 65 no point in messing around, you will save more too

My multi car premium went up about £20 (2.5%) last month......the two cars that I am named as the principal driver were reduced slightly with the car (the CL) that MrsB is the named principal driver having an increase in premium.
I did not make enquiries but in my mind I had put this down to the gender ''correction'' factor.
