Insurance premium reduction during lockdown

I thought I would contact my insurance company to see if I am due a refund as I am not using the SL much at the moment due to lockdown (travel restrictions are still in place in Wales)

My estimate of annual mileage at last renewal was 6000
It did 2300 miles between MOTs

The refund offered was £4.45

Anyone want a coffee and cake on me?

That's good business. Their pro-active offer is so much better than waiting for customers to make the approach. Altomar's experience of a derisory offer is terrible customer service. He'll be on the comparison sites when renewal comes around.

I'm with Hastings and l won't be holding my breath for any kind of rebate. They stung me rotten when l changed my car earlier this year and I'll definately be looking elsewhere come renewal time.

Just filled in the online Covid-19 lockdown refund form for Direct line, the car has covered no more than 10 miles per week since 23 March and the annual mileage limit on the policy is 6000 pa so will be interesting to see what happens - hope it’s more than a cup of coffee and bun lol

You. Have to watch hastings. This yr they wanted 110 more than last. I did 2000 miles in it. Another company contacted me based on the previous yr quote and were 30 quid cheaper than I paid hastings last yr, I called them and they were not interested in matching it. Bye bye. Twas mustard that under quoted hastings.

my car Insurers Tesco this time, no refund and a premium increase, needless to say I'm off, RAC are in the lead at £160 .

I got £25 back on my car and £25 back on my motorbike, as an old fart the percentage on my 'bike was about 30%. I imagine £25 for a new teen driver isn't much to celebrate but still better than a poke in the eye with a sh*tty stick...

That’s very useful, I might have to ask Admiral about that and see if they will match, especially as I’ve just renewed with them,

I'm weeping at some of the numbers quoted above. E350 CDi and I have to declare it is tuned because I am rather risk averse and, you know, the law and stuff.

£600 minimum. I've not been offered a refund due to CV-19 and I'm not asking for one, because it might draw their attention and they'll decide to bum me a bit harder.
