Hello All!

First post, long time lurker. Great, and very helpful forum.

Anyways..to the case..

I have a 2009 W212 220 CDI with the OM651 engine.

I have an error code that wont go away, and am researching the cause of this.

My question really is this:

Does my engine have more than one intake air temp sensor? I take it sensor 1 is located around the air intake. Can anyone give me the location of sensor 2?

Thanks alot!

Soooo......... you clear the code using your code reader and then when you use the car, the code comes back.
Have you changed anything..?

Hi

Thanks for your reply.

I clear the code, and it comes back once i cycle the ignition.

I just need to find out where this sensor is, so i can start troubleshooting it :)

This is the only intake air temp sensor.
Clean and check the wires and pins on the connector.
Please take a few piccies if possible.

Thanks.
According to my research, this MAF sensor is not a normal MAF . It incorporates a temperature sensor. It sends a temperature signal to the ECU as well.
Give it a clean with an appropriate spray cleaner and see if the code comes back. How oily does it look inside.?

Thanks.
I dont have a wiring diagram otherwise we could have checked the connectivity of the cables.
By the way, how many wires can you see.?
Give the connecting pins a clean and check the jaws in the plug, while you have it off.

Managed to find the short.

There is a wire on the left side of the engine. Orange and grey/Black color that had shorted. This wire runs under the a/c pump and towards the front of the engine. I imagine this wire goes to a iat sensor located after the intercooler, but havet checked.

Anyways, code now cleared.

Thank for all the help troubleshooting this.
