Hello,

New to these forums having just picked up a 2003 SL - it has the integrated phone kit in the arm rest which I know works with the Nokia 6310. However, I'd like to know whether it will work with the 6310i without modification before I go ahead an buy one.

Is there anybody out there who can confirm it will work?

Many thanks
Steve

I second that, definitely works. In fact mine works with the 6210 as well.

Don't buy one from MB, they charge about £250. You can pick one up on E Bay for under £60.

Yes - the later UHI cradles handles 6210, 6310 and 6310i though as an 03 I assume it's not UHI but hard wired. Should still handle the 6310i if it copes with the 6310 though - there is no real difference.
The uhi cradles are £131 from MB and whetever you can get away with on Ebay.
If anyone wants a 6310i UHI cradle, make me an offer!

In the Chrysler 300C accessories catalogue the phone cradles are £70 I wonder if they are the same as the MB ones

Yes 6310 was an update to the 6210 and both use the same car kit.

Yes you can use a 6310 the e normally shows that the phone is tied to a network.

the 6210/6310 including i or e after the number, these can be unlocked, and I have just done my own 6150e and that works in the same holder as yours.

Err - Possibly not. Some did, some did not.
The original 6210 kit was brought out just for the 6210 - fair enough really as the 6310 didn't exist yet.
When the 6310 came out, they updated the 6210 kit to cope with both as they shared the same sockets and mounts. Visually the kits are identical.
So, a 2001 hard wired (pre UHI) 6210 kit may not handle a 6310/i.

Case in point, I looked at a 2003 E320cdi. Loved the car (obviously) but the thing that put me off was the fact that whilst I could plug in and charge my 6310i, the car kit wouldn't actually recognise or talk to it. An identicial 2004 E class I'd had on loan, with the supposedly identical kit, had worked fine. So, as yours is a 2001 I'd be wary.

There is still only one cradle listed B67875822 for the 6210,6310 and 6310i , but as Jbearks says some do and some don't , as I said my 6150e works in the above holder, could it be that as the years go on the newer holders take earlier phones.

Is a 2001 S class UHI compatible?
I assumed it would have the previous hard wired kit.
If it is UHI then you can buy my old 6230i cradle - only used 3 months and even comes in a lovely MB box!
