I drive an E-Class 320 CDI
Thanks to all that provided responses to my original question. Whilst I am orgaising the repair, which is covered under my insurance (yes I will have to pay the agreed excess), can anyone advise if I might cause further damage to the engine with the intercooler leaking air. Apart from lower efficiency and power, should I be concerned about driving long distances?

The only problem i see is that you could end up stalling when pulling out into traffic, it happened to me recently when a hose came off..
