Hi All

I am new to the forum, and also to Mercedes ownership, having purchased a 2004 SLK a couple of weeks ago. While the exterior paint work is really good quality the interior leather could do with touching up a little bit.

How do I go about finding out the exact colour code for the interior please? I have tried a few VIN sites on the Internet ( as recommended by Google ) but to no avail

Any help gratefully received

Cheers

Rich

Hi and welcome. Pop your VIN into the MB Vin decoder app on Google Play store (assuming you have an android phone) and it should tell you. Or post it up on here.

Huge thanks for reply. Any recommendations for what 'stuff' to buy and where to get it to bring the leather back to the original colour?

Really enjoying the SLK so far.... a bit more sun wouldn't go amiss though....

Do kits for cleaning etc. I used it on my red leather seats in the 230

I've been through this with the "anthracite" leather in my SL. I didn't find anywhere to off er the colour ready mixed. They wanted a sample of leather sent so they could match it. It would have cost around £60. My solution was to mix it myself from the variety of colours I had. After a few attempts I got it right. If I were you I would buy one of the starter kits off ebay for around £30 and do the same. For touching in or just to re colourthe bolster you only need a tiny amount. I've posted this picture before. The colours are different due to different phone cameras
