I have just bought an early w202 my problem is when i open the rear door the interior light glows,as do the dash lights. Also sometimes the central locking on the drivers door does not work and the windows will not go up with the key ANYONE got any ideas....

Have a look at the comfort control relay, a large relay unit mounted alongside the battery in the boot, you will have to take out the battery to get at it.
Check the wiring connectors on this unit as corrosion can cause malfunctions in door locks, windows and total closure system.

Thanks for the info, done as you said, now rear windows work every now and then, from switchs inside the car but work on total closure, which also works when it wants to. locking from drivers door only works once in the morning.
Have cleaned the box twice now inside and out. Do you think a new box is needed?
