Interior trim knocking

Morning, I have a 204 c220 estate and it’s developed a knock at the back of the heater controls, sometimes it sounds like it’s near the passenger airbag but it’s certainly deep within that area..

Does anyone have any ideas what it may be? It’s quite a solid knock if you know what I mean..

Could be suspension components like a broken spring from the engine bay area? Sound travels in a funny way sometimes ?

Thanks, it recently had an mot with nothing found, (if this is something that they would check up on)

If it's a clicking sound it may be a failed heater diverter flap motor.
