S203 C180 auto estate 2001 (sold)
Can anyone advise please.

My 2002 model C180 W203 estate has a phone mounting bracket fitted on the n/s of the radio mounting panel. How do i remove these wood effect panels so i can remove the phone mounting bracket. I have tried to lift them by hand and also gently lever with plastic lever but without any joy, it feels that i will break the panels if i put any more pressure on them. I suspect that they may be screwed in place but i can't see where.

Hello,
First you need to remove the centre heater vent, two trox screws at the bottom and two wedge style clips at the top, have a close look with a torch.

At the bottom of the wooden pannel are two spring like retaining clips which need to be popped off at the back. get down low with a torch and you will see wot i mean. should remove now.

Its hard to describe how to do it, hope you manage to get it off!

If the phone mount is the MB trim addition (same color as the car trim) then you'll find a screw at the back of the trim in the footwell.

It possibly screws into the footwell air vent. Unscrew this and then pull the back outwards in an arc towards you about 90 degrees. The front edge has a right angled, metal clip which is inserted into the gap between the vinyl and wood effect trim on the centre dash.
