Intermittent Alarm Problem

Hi all,

Since getting my E Class 3 weeks ago, once a week (roughly) after parking up and locking etc, no more than two minutes after locking up the alarm is going off. There isn't any sign of anything moving inside the car and I haven't seen anyone around when it has happened.

Any ideas?

have the same with my w202, try canceling the interior sensor before closing the drivers door, if the alarm doesn't sound, then it's more inclined to be the interior sensors at fault. 100 quidish each to put right. grr. keep us posted

Hi Stevey,
Re your alarm problem , does the alarm sound or just the hazards flashing double fast, I had the same problem on my E class . I had my local indie check it on the diagnostic ,it turned out to be a faulty siren unit, It costs approx £ 50-£60 depending on type. If the siren is sounding then it is possibly a faulty sensor ,Check the one on the roof as apparently they can be prone to go faulty. Hope this is of some help ..

Nope, the alarm is definately going off!!! I will have a look at the sensor at some point. Can't afford a new one at the moment though so I think I might just have to put up with it.

If I cancel the interior sensor, I take it the alarm will still be functional for windows being smashed, locks broken etc???
