Hi my son's clc has a very annoying issue, both electric folding mirrors fold in using the buttons on dash but they will not unfold no matter what I do. I have changed the switch pack and they did work for a while when locking and unlocking, but I accidentally pressed the fold button on dash which folded mirrors but now they won't unfold. I can manually move the mirrors out into a position where car can be driven but they are not locking into position and if the fold or unfold button is pressed they do fold in but will not unfold. If anyone can help with some advice I could use it or a wiring diagram to fault find would be helpful. By the way I have tried toggling on and off in the convenience menu to no avail.

Hi. The electric doors mirrors on my son's clc (which were working ok) won't unfold and are stuck in the folded position. I can manually unfold mirrors up so car is drivable, but they won't lock into position and when knocked or on the motorway would probably move. The buttons on the dash switch will only fold mirrors no matter which button you press. A new switch pack has been fitted and mirror fold on lock is enabled in convenience menu I have also tried the various resetting methods described online. The mirror glass on both sides can be adjusted and mirror indicators work fine, so it's a mystery why the mirrors have suddenly stopped folding as they were working fine till a few days ago. All the relevant fuses are fine. So if anyone can help it would be appreciated, or a wiring diagram for the mirrors would be helpful.

I have tried resetting but has not made any difference. But thanks anyway. What's baffling is once I pull mirrors out by hand and then press the fold button on switch pack they do fold back in again. So there is power to the motor. I did read somewhere that the front Sam module could cause this type of problem, but without a wiring diagram I am stuck.

Good luck and I hope it doesn’t get to the drastic solution shown here...

Another chap squirted loads of WD40 but not sure how good that is for the motor...

Hi an update on the mirror fault. I came across a write up on how to test if its the switch or the Sam unit, this was done by unplugging switch pack and linking terminals 2 and 5 and lo and behold both mirrors unfolded, after this they even started working when car is locked and unlocked. So the replacement switch pack is also faulty.
