I have an A140 Elegance that has an intermittent loss of power steering. When I first start the car it works fine and will sometimes drive for hours with no problem, other times I can go 10 yards down the road go to turn and the power steering is very heavy. The odd thing is, if I stop and restart the engine it works again. I suspect it's a relay or connector but have no idea where to start looking can anyone help?

The PAS uses an electric/hydrolic pump. Sounds like a poor feed or earth. The main connector block for this is below the screen washer bottle area. It has an earth, a permanent live & a switchable live which comes from the alternator. I would look here first for any signs of corrosion/poor contacts.

Did you sought your problem??

Is this one of those cars where the alternator part number must match that of the car or pump
