intermittent xenon bulb failure warning

2003 reg C230 sport coupe with bi-xenon headlamps, unfortunately shows right lamp failure warning, and bulb is out. Next time the lights are switched on they are ok. Anybody know the possible cause

I had that on my SL320 just after I bought it. It was caused by a faulty light unit and cost quite a bit. Luckily for me it was covered by a warranty.

I have had the same problem. When car (R230) was put on STAR, it stated faulty bulb.
I managed to get a new Osram bulb for £40 inc postage.
