Hi to everyone :) I am a cab driver (private hire) in the city of Chester, cars used to date have been Vectra diesel - okay up to 160k miles then cost a fortune, got rid at 190k miles, Rover 75 diesel only kept it 4 mths - abnormal tyre wear and duff ECU, now have Citroen Picasso diesel  Okay but needs a lot of attention. I am now considering a Merc and have been reading a little on this forum (also returned from Rhodes where they all drive Mercs). Clearly a Mercedes will not realise the same fuel consumption - the previous 3 cars averaged 38-40mpg (my work is about 75% in town), but it should be a more reliable and comfortable means of earning a living. I am in no hurry and have plenty of time to find a good one.
My understanding is that the Rhodes cabbies mainly use E250 diesels, one in particular was 12 yrs old and had done some 530k kms.
Is there anywhere I can get spec levels, fuel figures, etc for the W124?
Thanks in advance
Gaz.
