Ok so i am the owner of a mercedes benz c160 2005 coupe
I had it in at 3 garages got the all clear then took it to one of the other garages when they diagnosed it with an exhaust leak, oil leak, brake pads and discs replacement, offside track rod, nearside lower arm
They are qouting me £1300 for all the work to get done
Does anyone know where i could buy a central and back box replacement exhaust part for this model? And have it fitted by a mobile mechanic

Sound like the latter tbf, some garages in my experience see an inexperienced person pull up with a merc and see dollar signs.

Have you got any running problems with the car,
exhaust leak - excessive noise (mercedes exhausts are very robust in my opinion unless you live by the sea, but you will get more problems than exhaust, it could simply be a clamp thats failed.
oil leak - have you seen the oil leak, where is it
brake pads and discs replacement - post a pic?
offside track rod, nearside lower arm - any clunnking noises when driving, more so when steering, going over a speed hump

Ask the garage to show you and take pics, some people take cars to a garage but simply dont ask - show me....

All if not most of these items will be picked up on a MOT, when was the last MOT

75% garages said fine, 25% throwing up all sorts, seems strange

First job having bought the car is to find a recommended MB specialist in your area, post your location and members will make recommendations based on experience

An MOT station could diagnose those issues, or not, fairly cheaply. One that doesn't do repairs could be an advantage.

There is alot of rattling comes frlm the car while driving and when i go over humps its louder and the fumes when i start the car are horrendous it fills the carpark where i live
Also when i switch my heater on there is a burning dust smell comes through
