Good morning all- hope you are all well!
Brief introduction - a retired mechanical engineer I treated myself to low mileage 5 year old s350 blutec with AMG styling pack and a few other extras back in 2016 - apart from 3 abs sensors and a couple of other niggles it has been largely an enjoyable car to drive and own - currently has 55k on clock - 29k @ purchase.
I am currently wanting to fit a towbar to the vehicle which looks a bit daunting electrically and probably expensive module wise - I like to do as much as I can myself but accept my limitations!
Looking forward to the group info and banter! Thanks Terry B

Hello and welcome,

Firstly I'd check that it has been type approved - does it have the towing figures on the VIN plate?

Welcome I notice your are retired are you 70 or older, if so your are restricted to 3500Kgs MAM (max authorised mass).
This assumes you have B+E licence. If you want to go above this you need a medical.

I had a HGV1 but gave it up at 60, I am now restricted as above. However I still have my group H, so I can still drive a 60 ton tank.

Not sure if there is any big demand for that in civilian life. :D

A little ironic I am restricted to 3500 Kgs group B, but no restrictions on a group H licence. The law makers missed that one.
