Hi everyone, I am trying to sort out some leaks on my newly acquired w124 200d.
There is a quite big leak from what seems to be under the oil pump. It is engine oil, and leaks down to the AC compressor and to the engine pan that seat bellow.

I took some photos so maybe you experienced members can help me out identify where possibly is this leak from.

All help is welcome, cheers!

It might be coming from an o ring which is between the fuel injection pump and the engine block.
Or from the lift pump bolted to the injection pump.
A good clean up around that area will help to find the leak.

A little bit too much, after each ride I get a small puddle on ground over night. I bought this car recently, it had the plastic pan protection so I was not able to see the leak.
PO must have cleaned all before selling :(

Still do not know how much this leak translates into oil I need to add...

I like and try to do my own wrenching, but not sure I wanna mess with engine timing: can I replace these o-ring with pump on site?
I must try to clean everything up and try to see where does this oil come.from

No, the pump has come out to replace it unfortunately. Timing it up is not too hard. If you remove the pump without rotating it and don't turn the engine over, it should go back on very close to its old setting.

I might need to think about doing it. The leak seems to big to simply ignore.
I will try to find tutorials with photos :)

If possible get a low pressure jet washer on there to clean it all up and let it dry.
Idle the car to id the leak.
Then go from there.
How much oil are you losing in volume terms. What are you adding to keep it topped up and how often.
