iPod integration kit location question

Hi folks,

Just getting an M-class and having the iPod integration kit installed. IIRC they said the ipod would be in the glove box - is this the usual place? I was thinking it would be better in the arm rest??

Any info gratefully received

I have just recentley had the IPOD intergration kit installed in my 2006 C class. The ipod sits in the glove box. You can by a holder for it but mine is in a case anyway.

Why would you want it in the arm rest once it is installed you do not have to touch the IPOD you control it fully through the stearing wheel. When connected the IPOD display the MB 3 pointed star and the line "ok to disconnect" all the buttons on the IPOD are disabled when connected

I was thinking it would be easier to get at - ie - right at hand rather than leaning right over the car in to the glove compartment.

It's an iphone so I would be taking it constantly in and out.

The iphone was a glint in Apple's eye when MB came up with the ipod kit and, since you don't need to touch it whilst in use, I suppose the glovebox made more sense.

Is the ipod kit compatable with the Iphone ?. I take it as the Ipod keys are disabled when the ipod is plugged in the phone will also be disabled.

Just out of interest what do you think of the Iphone and is it on o2 ?

Hi,

The dealer assures me it is. I've got the phone pre-wiring and the bluetooth thingy and they showed me that working.

After resisting the iPhone for so long (cost, etc) I'm over the moon with it. An absolutely fantastic device! Really looking forward to seeing it in the Merc.

Yep, it's on o2.
