the kick down often does not work, especially if the revs are around 2100-2500, is this just a matter of adjusting the throttle cable?

The kickdown didnt work at all when i first got it, so after a while dropped down using the gear stick this seem to help as kick down would then work sometimes ,gradually improving with time. Then noticed that the plastic adjuster on the cable was brocken, so cobbled together something to bring the tension back to what should be about right, but just cant quite get this last bit right, or do these just not go down on those revs?

Any ideas would be great!

Auto Data put out last week that the fuel pump relay PCB goes open circuit on one of the copper tracks, this will cause no kick down on the 124 cars on.
It is easy to repair the relay. Just do not try and flow solder over the break you must bridge it with a thread of wire.

No (electric) fuel pump on a 300 Diesel...

Kickdown of the diesel depends on revs & speed. Over 60 mph you won't be in luck expecting the car to kick down. Below that speed you'll need to have the kickdown cable and throttle cable adjusted properly. I normally set kickdown to occur at 60-70% throttle

Is this an 85-93 300TD diesel or a 93-96 E300 Diesel?
