Is Anyone Still Running a W208 CLK?

I had to post about my w208 CLK320 as I got her through another MOT without too much trouble.
Needed a small bit of welding at the ns front strut top mount but other than that, it's all good.

These cars are seriously under rated. Mine is 20 year old this year and I've owned her since 2010 and nothing serious has went wrong with her.

Really brilliant cars.

yr right. i have a 2001 with 160k miles sails thru mot here and in france yet to have an issue, not a dent in it ,tiny surface rust in rear wheel arches, repainted every 2 yr ,not a great match but kept at bay. frankly a lovely carefree drive, i have centre prop bearing to change in the summer

Agreed great cars. I had a 208 did 120K miles almost nothing went wrong. Then a 209 115K miles, a few minor issues, shock absorber, & front suspension bushes.

Here's a picture from when I bought the car. The bodywork was in good condition back then.



Bodywork wise she isn't looking so great these days though. I'll take a few current pictures of her today, as I really need to get her looking like this again.

My dad had a 208 320V6, from new, to 243,000 miles.

He gave it to me after leaving it outside his house for a few years, when it was replaced. Never gave one issue for him at all!

one try,s, i have had that since end of 2003 ! just as 1st mot came up no leaks oil or otherwise , i had drama with maf and alt regulator, caused by.NEW batt and no load at start up ? otherwise 3k mile oil changes and liners out every yr to clean and waxoil. car plastered in wd40 when parked. i paid 16.5 k when i bought at around 70k miles ? it owes me nothin and worth b/all so i just keep it in case lovelly,s A class needs anything doing.bit of rust behind d/s wheel,non structural so not getting excited .would sell but little interest ,its french reg now starting 2nd yr of 2 yr CT (MOT)

We are still running our quartz blue 430 cabriolet. It only comes out for the summer months so not a speck of rust anywhere to be found. On 110,000 miles now, but runs as sweet as ever. Lovely old thing. I think I'll be buried in it

I really like the 209. I'd even be tempted to change my wonderful 202 C280 v6 for a nice CLK320 if I could find the right one. Can't understand how they've become so low in value, unless it's the reputation for rust that's doing it.

These cars always seemed like a lot of car for the money. Ive seen them from£500 UP. They have potential

Here's a quick photo of my 208 today. All four arches are a bit rusty and there's some rust on the boot lid and door bottoms. Going to start with two new front wings and go from there.

Lovely colour combination there. There are a couple of this combo I see on a regular basis. One for the "I'll get one eventually" list.
