Surely all leather is "man made"? Otherwise it's just skin...

Pedantry aside, I've read many MB sales treaties and they are very clear on what is leather and what is not. Guess their legal eagles have been busy...

From "Collins" Leather = A material consisting of the skin of an animal.

From "Collins" Man-made = Made or produced by man; artificial

As Whitenemesis jokingly pointed out, even real leather is man made.

I think that one could say that a top end car with leather and a few goodies in the £12k secondhand price bracket could influence the price by up to £1k

All true but some cultures simply will not buy a car with a flayed deity stitched to the seat frame.

Utterly bonkers, in reality, but there it is.

Artificial cow is künstliche Kuh in German, where as Artico is the same in both.

Artico actually means Arctic so basically it's just cold seats :D (sits and waits for the "I have bum warmers in mine" comments)

We've got Artico in our car, I think all of our Mercs have had that, but we did have leather in our Porsche. Can't say I noticed any difference between them

Being half German, when I was younger my mum used to send me to school wearing a dirndl dress, can you imagine
