Yes I agree and yet I took a car into a garage in Aylesbury for a new track rod end and had to take it back 3 times for them to get the tracking right. That what happens when you listen to recommendations from friends and use a different place.I never let a car leave my workshop after steering work without checking the tracking. Doing so would rely on it being right when it came in. If it wasn't and the car scrubbed it's tyres quickly guess who would be getting the comeback.
When the weather gets better and I finally get to it. I will also warm the rubber, maybe in hot water to make it more pliableNice job there i would go the long way,, not knowing about this little trick ,.and take off the ball joint ,,,not any more i wont,,that is a very good idea .Abd you could help the new gaiter along with some silicone grease
