Is it worth remapping high milers?

Is it worth having a high-ish mile car remapped? say 100,000+? would there be any distinct advantages or would it put too much strain on other components?

No we have tuned many vehicles with 100+K on the clock! I had an E39 530D which had been running a map from 120k to 180k and is still going strong now!!!

I'll pop you an Email later as it concerns my 99 Alfa GTV V6 3.0. Currently on 107,000. Supposedly 220bhp (doubt it now). Interested to hear what you could do.

Increased power. In my case, the Alfa will probably have lost some of it's original 220BHP. I would like to obviously have that + a lot more. When I am contacting GAD, I'm hoping they will be able to tell me what to expect from this car after remapping.
Years ago, we skimmed heads, tuned our Webers etc. Now it's a remap.

Good afternoon guys,

There are always gains to had from all stock vehicles! Especially diesels!! However your 2.5 TD cant be remapped!!! There is no control over fuelling you would need an uprated pump but there is a company in Scandinavia that do uprated fuel pumps for your vehicles.

A lot of those still apply but your stage should always be software as the first point of call as the manufacturers hide so much from you!!!

these TDs can be remapped but it involves removing and resoldering a chip into the ECU old school stuff !! approx 25+HP

Your correct I should have made it more clear! It run the one time write PSOP chips which we do not tune! Proper old school stuff everything on the EPROM and EEPROM is re-writable!

Yes of course! However you wont see the gains that would from a modern diesel or turbo petrol! It would be more about refining what's there in the software like flat spots for cruising and bits like that! If you could pop over all vehicle details to Anthony@gadtuning.co.uk then I can get some bits together for you!
