Spost to be limited to around 54-56 mph, I guess the limiter is broke on that one, or the driver knows where the fuse is to disconnect it...........

I though it was a bit too fast and pushed me to go to fast as it was pouring down and he was throwing about 30 gallon of water at me with ever turn of his wheel.
I know i could have backed off but you tend to get caught up in these things
wish i had now as when i got past had to sit at 65-70 for 11mls with him up
my backside.Must admit i did touch the brake pedal now and again to get him to back off but i think he was a nutter

HGVs and artics are limited to 60mph on motorways. 50 on dual carriageways, 40 on other roads, and 30 in built up areas. Lorrys under 7.5 tonnes can travel at 70 on motorways, 60 on dual carriageways and 50 on single carriageways.

Oops, missed that bit...anyway the same applies north of the border as described above...and not much different south. On motorways and dual carriageways, HGVs and artics are restricted to 100kph (62.5mph). 80kph (50mph) on other roads.

Wagons can only run at 56mph max (motorway)due to the limiter .I live about 20 miles from Heysham and there seems to be a trend by irish drivers to exceed their driving hours and tampering with their speed limiters

That may be so...but the legal limit is 60. I suppose the 56mph on limiters is to give a margin for error.

Truckers who are 'owner-drivers' can be "petrol-heads" just like car enthusiasts and guess what they sometimes delimit their trucks just because they can!

Unlike the members on here who, of course, wouldn't dream of getting their motor chipped to gain more performance !!

Doesn't mean that there are any excuses for stupidity in either truck drivers or MB owners!

Legal limit 56mph To tamper with limiters is becoming harder to do due to the electronics now used on hgv vehicles
