I've been on here for a while due to CONSTANT problems with my mums A class and E class and poor everything in relation to them and Merc (Buy BMW!!) lol, Anyway, I've just got hold of an '83 Mercedes 280E which is concours condition, not built out of cheap materials and just a genuine solid car which I plain to just work on when not doin my other cars..

Is this the place to be for information and so on or can someone recommend me to an owners club with more of a classic memberlist if they exist?

Thanks alot for any help!!

Mark

Sorry to say this Bobcat (because he is a good guy) but the experts on your car are in the only Merc club that is officially recognised by the Mercedes factory (part of the world association of Merc clubs that Mercedes recognise)and it is at www.******************.co.uk

Access to the forum section of that club is for members only which costs about £35 pa.

This month's mag had articles about W123 exhaust systems which you will be interested in, and THE UK W123 expert is a Mark Cosovich based in South Wales, and you should have this guy's details.

You need to make it to the Brooklands Festival on weekend of July 22 where the club annual concours and other activities are being held at the new Mercedes-Benz World.

Greetings Merc people

Hi folks, I'm Les and I'm totally new to this forum. Last year I bought a 1979 silver 450SLC LWB hard top ... for my wife. Long story, won't bore you.

Sadly, my local mechanic has just given it a thorough medical and says it has been botched in various ways in the past and needs much work and money spending on it.

So what I'm wondering is - can anyone on the forum help me with info on Mercedes-trained mechanics, specialist welders, etc., in my neck of the woods? I live in Sheringham on the North Norfolk coast.

Alternatively, is there a place on this forum for finding an enthusiast who might be interested in acquiring the vehicle for a restoration project?

I'll get some photos done and post them here.

Any feedback will be appreciated. Thanks
