...well, now you can find out.

Below is a link to MB CLub Russia, which is superb. Input your VIN and it will tell you every original detail of the car - what colour it first was, where it was sold and exactly what it left the factory with, even the original gearbox numbers, type of diff etc - great service.

I think your V17 should be 17 long.
Have you tried entering your 16 digits?
It should be printed on your V5.
