Issues after using V-Power Diesel

Friends at work suggested I try Shell V-Power diesel, for performance and economy (I usually go for the standard Shell fuel). [I run a W210 E220CDi]. I've done so, now on the second tank, but almost immediately two things occurred; 1/ The glow plug fault light shows when the engine is cold (for around a minute after starting), and 2/ it appears that the torque converter is failing to drop power at very low revs when cold, causing a stall in reverse, and too much forward drive when crawling in traffic. I have read other posts which suggest these latter conditions are features of sensors becoming dirty.

It appears to me (and this may be pure coincidence) that using V-Power has loosened dirt / deposits in the engine, and sooted up the glow plus and sensors. In "cleaning" the engine it may have caused less than desirable side effects. The car is due a service soon, so hopefully I will get the issues resolved and it won't be too expensive, but I wondered if anyone else had noticed this as a result of changing fuel?

The glow lamp staying on is just telling you that one or more has failed, cant see thats anything to do with the fuel you are using, again, go with malc, sound more of a maf sensor fault!

Thanks to both - I had the car serviced by a main dealer at the weekend, explained the issue in detail, and I assumed they would also report a MAF problem. Picked it up (nice and cold in the morning) and it stalled right away. Service guy said "air in fuel line - as we needed to replace two, it will go away", and of course it hasn't.

So much for relying on the experts!

If I was to swap out the MAF - are there any settings / adjustments that would make it not a DIY task? I just don't fancy telling the dealer the issue and them charging through the nose for what looks like quite simple task.
